Episode 5: Agile is the Mind that Runs with Dogs

Today James Reed, co-host of the Science Night Podcast, takes a turn at stirring the pot. He sat down with another co-host of the Science Night Podcast, Dr. Steffi Diem, to talk about her second life as a competitive dog agility trainer. Settle in as she tells you about the journey that took her from finding an outlet for a restless pet to competing for a world championship in Madrid, and what exactly dog snooker is.
Our Guest: By day, Dr Diem is an assistant professor at the Univ. of Wisconsin-Madison’s Engineering Physics Dept. and Principal Investigator at the Pegasus-III fusion energy experiment. In her spare time she practices and competes in dog agility training with her furry friends: Dangerboat,Inara, and Starbuck. She’s also an amazing science communicator, which you can hear on her podcast Science Night.
